It looks like a new trend on the Internet, open social network and website focused to collect funds for financing projects and ideas in B2C and B4C.

Probably this is a direct reflection of the economic difficulties of the past years in the stock market so it reflects on every investor and inventor. Anyway, now this approach seems to be the new trend on the internet and is interesting since it uses the  social network model to collect money.

KICKSTARTER

KickStarter helps you promote your idea and find funds from a community or to ask for help from all the people you know.

“Kickstarter is an incredible platform. Its obvious purpose is funding, but we find ourselves gaining so much outside of collecting pledges. For us, Kickstarter has been a powerful tool to connect with a community passionate about our work.”

GROUPON

Groupon, recently reviewed in a previous post of ours, is a start-up based in Chicago offering daily deals in which people can score reduced prices and discounts on acupuncture, meals, opera tickets, Segway tours, even teeth cleanings — as long as enough people participate. In 18 months it moved from 10 to 100 employees.

MARC DORCEL

Marc Dorcel is a big French porn movie producer and we know how very often the porn industry understands and uses the new trends of promotion before many other industries. Recently, Marc Dorcel started a campaign where the internet users are transformed into co-producer of his movie with a fundraising.

PEPSI

Probably the  most famous and first case of campaign to help creative users realize their ideas. Pepsi offered them a platform to publish their ideas and to ask other users to vote for the one that deserves to be funded.

This is an interesting trend because it outlines how the web needs more not only UCG but to also start with collaborative projects. It also shows how the next interactive advertising campaigns need to be built more often between the agencies and web users.
