My watch will talk with my mobile. I will be able to call someone without pulling my mobile from the pocket. When I saw for the first time I’m watch website my imagination flown into hundred of sci-fi pictures. Keeping surfing the pages, I also discovered the “made in Italy” factor.

But let’s talk about the smartwatch:

This Android-based SmartWatch connects, using Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, with almost all the existing mobile operating systems: Android (HTC, Samsung, Motorola, LG, etc), RIM (Blackberry), iOS (Apple iPhone), Bada (Samsung), Symbian (Nokia), Windows Phone 7.

Using tethering, if available on the mobile phone/operator, it can use the data connection to download custom applications from a dedicated marketplace.

The built-in microphone makes me dreaming to talk to my watch as Michael Knight, asking it to call someone as Siri is doing with the iPhone (my Android mobile already contains a lot of voice-controlled features).

I hope all my “in bocca al lupo” (Italian’s version of “break your legs”) to all the Italian team who are working to this very promising device.

This pair of glasses (or mask) costs $ 499.00 and is the most expensive ever, as I understand, followed by a pair with built-in camera that records in HD (720p) at $249.95. Finally arriving at “normal” model of Oakley, at about $200.00.

Zeal Optics takes a risk on this market, but it has to start with a series of “tech” products which will be more attractive to fans.

Pioneer is currently developing a cyclocomputer running on Android. Cyclocomputers are attached to bicycles to calculate their speed and distance traveled. Most conventional cyclocomputers have only had numerical displays, but now, using Android they also have a graphical display and integration with various applications.

“This device is mainly for road bikes and other sport bikes. It can calculate speed, cadence, heart rate, and power. This cyclocomputer supports the ANT+ wireless specification. In addition, Pioneer has now developed a sensor which can be attached to the crank, called a pedaling monitor. This measures the force on the crank, so users can train while looking at the force vectors for their left and right feet.”

Pioneer is also considering navigation and waterproofing for a commercial version.

“Because this cyclocomputer has GPS, we think navigation will be a key feature. Pioneer offers a variety of navigation capabilities, so we’d like to add applications that include those kinds of technology. Also, this device is designed for bicycles only, but we think the platform itself could have a diverse range of applications.”

Top speed of 18mph, and a range of 15 miles? Charges in only two hours? No, this isn’t the future of transportation we’re talking about here, it’s a toy. A toy from Audi, of all places. The company has created this electric-powered and half-scale recreation of an Auto Union Type C, grand prix racer of the late 1930s, and it has done it in e-tron guise, applying the moniker from its grown-up line of EVs, like the luscious e-tron Spyder.

This one’s intended for kids of all ages — so long as they’re shorter than 5’11” — and it will be on display at the International Toy Fair in Nuremberg. At this point there’s no mention of a plan to produce it nor a price if Audi did, but surely it’s one of those “if you have to ask” things — that body is entirely made of carbon fiber, and that stuff doesn’t come cheap.

Avatar Kinect in action

So, Microsoft doesn’t have a press-ready demo of its new Avatar Kinect, but we at least got to see it in action today. To keep the unwashed masses lining up to try Kinect at the booth entertained, Microsoft has a comedian (dubbed “Mr. Kinect”) controlling an Avatar with Kinect, heckling the queued-up folks with his digital puppetry. The good news is that he’s working it from a seated position, the great dream of folks tired of standing up to get their motion gaming on.

Ford SYNC Destinations hands-on

There was a time when we studied maps to figure out where we were going. Then there was a time when we went online and printed out directions before we left. Now we pretty much just jump in our cars and put all our faith in the Lady of the Dash (clad in shimmering samite), but Ford wants to give you a little more control over her. Back when it was still 2010 (barely) the company announced SYNC Destinations, enabling you to plan your route in detail before you even get in the car. Now we got a chance to play with it and, while it’s simple, it certainly does seem useful. Check out the video after the break.

Samsung SmartTV supports full Adobe Flash App

Today at the International Consumer Electronics Show, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. and Adobe announced that Samsung’s Smart TV platform will be the first to integrate support for Adobe® AIR® 2.5 for TV, making it easy for developers to build, distribute and monetize standalone applications through Samsung’s Smart TV applications store, Samsung Apps. The integration of AIR for TV with Samsung’s Smart TV platform will create new opportunities for a growing community of more than three million Adobe Flash® Platform developers who can use Adobe Creative Suite 5 to author content for AIR for TV. All of Samsung’s 2011 Smart TVs and Smart Blu-ray players will include support for Adobe AIR for TV.

More information about Samsung’s Smart TV strategy and Samsung’s new partnerships was announced during Mr. Boo-Keun Yoon’s keynote address, which can now be viewed at www.samsungces2011.com.
Fulton Innovation and Wireless Tesla in your kitchen

Wondering what your future kitchen looks like? Take a gander at what Fulton Innovation is showing at CES this year. They’re also giving a peek at the future of retail shopping, and even parking lots. It’s all the magic of inductive charging, and now that the Qi standard has been finalized it seems like things are coming together. Really together, in everything from cereal boxes with blinkenlights to Tesla Roadstersthat charge almost as quickly as with a wire but, quite obviously, without the wire.

A hip flick, one touch and you’re done. Mail, phone numbers, address chat, profile on the popular social networks, photos, videos, music: everything you want to share on your jeans. The revolution has been brought to Italy by AngelDevil known brands made in Puglia which have acquired great reputation in the past few years. It’s called fashion evolution, a union between fashion and technology in a completely new and innovative product: the objective is to launch a line of products to contact people around the world through the technology AngelDevil Poken.

Until now, only a multinational sportswear had adopted a similar solution, but only for sporting purposes. Poken is the first social networking device, the easiest way to share your contact and personal information, a real meeting point between the real world and online social networks. Allows you to transfer and share things easily and instantly improve your own personal information and profiles on all online social networks. By integrating this technology, the AngelDevil jeans has became a communication tool: the birth of a new gesture, a new way to discover and a new sense of belonging. A style that will overcome the inhibitions and barriers of shyness.

The product in question creates innovative communication, flirty, sensual, not indifferent. The line will present elements of style very identifiable and easily recognizable. Wearers of AngelDevil Touch will be immediately identifiable by other members of their community. The product, which will be launched through a massive TV and press campaign organized by the Wake Up, will be in stores by September 15, 2010: it will be available as women jeans, Skinny and Boyfriend, and men jeans, Slim Fit and Carrot.

Time for us to admit another entrant into the hall of unnecessary, but cool inventions. Installed at Tokyo’s Shinagawa Station yesterday, this latest spin on the vending machine dispenses with those silly windows unto what you’re buying and furnishes its user with a 47-inch touch panel from which to make his (or her) selection. An embedded camera will recognize your gender and age, allowing the machine to recommend a beverage suitable to whatever stereotype is attached to your particular circumstances.

And don’t worry, it’ll store your purchasing history too, so you can be freaked out by tailored ads every time you use it. 500 more of these WiMAX-equipped units are planned to be installed in and around Tokyo over the next two years, with operating company JR East expecting them to tally up 30 percent more sales than their analog brethren. More bling equals higher revenue? Sounds about right.

That’s a real baby, wearing a real IR necklace that interacts with a real Wiimote. What’s not real, of course, is the view of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge. That is generated by Ryan Hoagland’s DIY virtual window, a brilliant pastiche of interior design, RED ONE footage and Johnny Chung Lee-style headtracking, all directed to your eyes by a Mac Pro feeding a pair of plasma screens.

As the viewer moves around, dual 1080p images move the opposite direction, providing the convincing illusion of looking out a real pane of glass at the incredibly detailed scenery beyond. Exciting? Then you’ll be giggling like Jr. when you hear it’s for sale. After spending a year figuring out how to mount, drive and cool the whole shebang, Hoagland would like you to have one too; he plans to have basic kits ready by July for under $3000. Watch baby-powered plasma in motion after the break, as well as a sweet time-lapse video of the building process.

The Android device-based market grows like App Store. This good sign means that in the next years, instead of choosing the Apple Mobile OS many people will choose Android for the devices around us such as TVs, car controls, tablet PCs, phones, etc…

TV

This television will make its way to 10 different countries including Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Poland, Australia, and Dubai. Unfortunately the US is not on the list, I’m sure it will make its way here through other means. This TV is designed by NCPG in Korea. This TV has an ARM processor running at 833 MHz Cortex 8A, USB, HDMI, S-Video port, D-Sub, DVI, and Component. It’s also has a backlit LED, 120HZ and will feature Android 1.5. If you remember, the last television had 1.6 so the television market is fragmented as well(pun). This TV supports ATSC / DVB-T / DVB-C / DVB-T HD Analog and will come in 42”, 55”and 47”.

INTEL+NOKIA Tablets

Here we go open source fans, the first debut of MeeGo 1.0 running on Intel silicon — an Acer Aspire One netbook (the 532h, from the looks of it) with a Pinetrail processor to be precise — sporting a simplified UI that looks to have inherited far more Moblin DNA than Maemo. You’ve got tasks, appointments, most-used apps, and a quick-launch bar all up front. We’re also seeing 3D gaming support; Zones, Applications, People, Internet, Media and Settings tabs; and real-time social networking integration for Twitter, Facebook, and instant messaging with task bar alerts. Can’t wait to see how the MeeGo user experience translates to a smaller, say, 4.8-inch Moorestown device or the TI OMAP-based followup to the Nokia N900 later this year. Until then, check the video after the break.
